How Does IPL - Light Assisted Skin Rejuvenation work?

At Dr Sknn by using IPL we utilise light energy which target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. The light is absorbed in areas of high vascularity or melanin concentration which is converted to heat destroying excess melanocytes and telangiectasia. Furthermore the treatment causes the skin to heat up and causes very mild, reversible thermal damage to the epidermis, the skin starts to repair itself by increasing the rate of collagen and elastic production deep within the dermis thus increasing the skin’s elasticity and strength.
