Improves Perioral & Lip Wrinkle reduction

With advancing age, the lips lose their shape, volume and moisture resulting in an aged appearance of a dry thinned out lip with downturned corners of the mouth and associated wrinkles. The lips then become disproportionate to the rest of the facial features resulting in an elder appearance.

At Dr Sknn, we sculpt lips taking the whole perioral area into consideration when treatments are planned. Dr Shaffu performs lip augmentations at Dr Sknn using Juvederm, a full aesthetic consultation prior to any treatment is performed including evaluating which signs of lip and facial ageing have occurred. Dr Shaffu then formulates a bespoke treatment plan including analysing areas that require improvement, in specific, to sculpt the perfect lips a variety of specialised techniques are used to improve the shape, volume and moisture of the lips.

01 · Before What Should You Expect Before The Procedure?

At Dr Sknn, prior to any filler procedure, Dr Shaffu performs a full medical history. Dr Shaffu then will perform a full aesthetic consultation looking at your face, skin and evaluate which signs of ageing have occurred. During the consultation there will be an opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results or questions you may have. Prior to treatment any risks associated with the treatment are discussed ensuring you fully understand them. As each patient is different and no one size fits all approach is taken, Dr Shaffu then formulates a couture plan specifically tailored to your ageing concerns and signs that have developed. The expert technique is then performed to produce long lasting natural results in the least painful manner.

02 · During Are Dermal Filler Painful?

Prior to performing any dermal fillers, if suitable, an anaesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure to minimise discomfort additionally, at Dr Sknn, we use a fine needle in addition to fillers premixed with anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.

03 · After What Should I Avoid After Dermal Fillers?

Some of the aftercare instructions include: Avoid touching and rubbing and make-up to the treated areas for 4 hours Avoid extreme heat/cold for up to 1 week post treatment Please note post your procedure you will be provided with a complete list of aftercare instructions.

Depending on the area however at Dr Sknn we use hyaluronic acid based fillers (Juvederm) which can be reversed using hyaluronidase.

Some common side effects include: Redness, swelling and bruising which settle over a period of time. Concealer make up may be used to reduce the appearance of common side effects 4 hours post procedure. However prior to treatment a full outline of all potential side effect and complications will be discussed.
How Long Lip Fillers Last?
The longevity of Marionette Line Fillers depends on different factors however generally they last anywhere between 10 months to 18 months. The factors that influence the longevity of dermal fillers include areas that move often such as the mouth, the results lasts shorter then other areas that are more stationary such as around the cheek or chin area. During your consultation Dr Shaffu will provide you with a better idea of the expected duration of each of the treatments.
