Profhilo works by bio-remodeling, it leads to cellular activation in different layers of the skin Changes to the structure of the extra cellular matrix activates stimulation of cell migration and cell proliferation therefore promoting improvement to the skin elasticity while maintaining the viability of fibroblast, keratinocytes and adipocytes. Profhilo also leads to tissue restoration without replacing volume, leading to both tightening and hydrating the tissue. Profhilo is a hybrid of high and low molecular weight of hyaluronic acid, which work together to increase elastin, collagen and the thickness of the skin. Within 2ml of Profhilo there is 64mg of Hyaluronic Acid which is the highest content currently available within the market. Due to the result of the patented hybrid technology this results in a slow, long-lasting release of high and low molecular weight HA. In specific Profhilo mechanism of action works in the following way: Increased Collagen Production: Collagen Type I and III are stimulated by fibroblasts. Increased Elastin Synthesis: Increased elastin expression in fibroblasts leads to production of type IV and VII collagen.

At Dr Sknn we take all precautions when treating any individual as such certain time frames are required when mixing Profhilo with other treatments.

At Dr Sknn we perform, depending on the area, 10 injection points, 5 on each side of the face, here 0.2ml bolus is used per point directed in the deep dermal layer, each injection point has a diffusion amount of 2cm.

At Dr Sknn we recommend a 6-monthly maintenance plan with a single treatment following completing your initial course of treatments.

At Dr Sknn we recommend having 2 treatments at a 1-month interval, a third treatment 2-months after the second treatment may be required depending on skin quality, age and external factors.

Side effects are usually minimal and usually transitory. You may experience pain at the injection points, a slight sensation of heat may occur, while there may be redness or swelling in the area however these generally disappear in a very short period of time. In certain areas such as the cheek area these effects may take a little longer to disappear and may last up to 2 weeks. However prior to treatment an outline of all potential side effect and possible complications will be provided.
