Skin Consultation: Discuss Your Cosmetic Skincare Options
Share
What is a skin consultation?
A cosmetic skin consultation is a conversation about the appearance of your skin and the products or aesthetic services that may suit your goals. You can explain whether dryness, texture, uneven-looking tone or another visible feature concerns you. The appointment is a starting point for discussion, not a diagnosis or a promise of clear, flawless skin.
At Dr Sknn, the available consultation roles depend on the current service and clinic booking rules. This Article does not imply that every appointment is with a dermatologist or that every clinician offers every service. Wilmslow is the primary clinic; Didsbury is also active. Check the exact clinic and eligible practitioner in the booking app.
What can you ask about?
Bring the products you currently use or a list of them, especially if something caused irritation. You can ask whether a simpler cleanser, moisturiser or sun-protection routine would be a better starting point than adding more active products. A suitable cosmetic product may improve the feel or appearance of skin, but no routine works the same way for everyone.
If you are considering a procedure, ask what concern it is intended to address, what change is realistic, what the limits and risks are, who would carry it out, what recovery could involve and what the total cost would be. An appointment may end with advice, a different referral, time to think or no procedure. A recommended product or treatment should follow individual suitability, not a generic Article.
When is a different assessment needed?
A cosmetic skin consultation cannot diagnose a medical skin condition from an online description. A new or changing pigmented mark, persistent rash, painful or spreading inflammation, bleeding, a non-healing area or another unexplained symptom needs appropriate healthcare assessment. An aesthetic procedure may need to wait if the treatment area is inflamed, infected or broken.
Do not stop or change prescribed skin treatment on the basis of this page. If you use prescribed products or have a diagnosed skin condition, bring that information to your consultation and follow your healthcare professional's advice.
How much is the consultation?
Consultations are free. For a Doctor consultation, the £50 payment is a reservation fee rather than a consultation charge. Nurse and Qualified Practitioner consultations are free. Check the current reservation, cancellation and rescheduling conditions in the booking app before making a Doctor reservation.
Dr Sknn is an independent private aesthetics and cosmetics clinic. The current Wilmslow and Didsbury consultation routes, clinic and practitioner availability, and any later treatment prices are shown in the Dr Sknn booking app. A consultation does not guarantee a product, procedure or result.
