At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) is utilised, a technology also implemented by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK to safely and effectively treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV. By sending out light at certain wavelength ranges, we at Dr Sknn attempt to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, thus making it possible to treat Poikiloderma of different sizes and depths with reduced harm to the surrounding skin. The impaired vessels are then taken in by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we are making use of IPL to utilise light energy, which leads to the heating of the Poikiloderma to a point of spasm and/or collapse, and sealing them. In the weeks to come, the impaired vessels will be absorbed by the body, meaning no trace of the original lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, during the appointment, a medical record and a physical evaluation are conducted beyond taking pictures. This is also an opportunity to articulate any worries, aspirations, results, or queries you may have. Prior to the treatment any post treatment advice and dangers associated with the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy are explained in detail, with a consent form signed to demonstrate understanding.
