At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is similarly employed by the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK, to securely and effectively treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in designated wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Poikiloderma of different sizes and at various depths while causing minimal harm to the nearby skin. Following the treatment the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and there is very little to no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL, applying light energy that penetrates the Poikiloderma, causing them to heat and contract, ultimately leading to their collapse and sealing. After a few weeks, the damaged vessels are gradually assimilated by the body, leaving hardly any hint of the blemish.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history including a physical examination, with photographs taken, will be conducted during the consultation. You will be given the possibility to talk about any anxieties, expectations, results or queries you may have. Before undergoing any Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, the post-treatment counsel and associated risks will be thoroughly explained, and you will be required to sign a declaration of consent.
