This system is employed by the NHS and private hospitals in the UK to treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV safely and effectively. By sending out light of specific wavelengths, the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin can be targeted, allowing us to treat Poikiloderma of various sizes and depths with minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Once the procedure is complete, the broken vessels are reabsorbed by the body, leaving barely any trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is employed to use light energy which is taken up by the Poikiloderma, heating them to a point where they spasm or fall apart, thereby sealing them. Over the following weeks, the impaired vessels are reabsorbed naturally by the body, leaving almost no indication of the original lesion.
