At Dr Skn, when you have a consultation for Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, a medical history will be taken, and a physical examination, including photographs, will be carried out. This consultation is an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns or expectations, and ask any questions you may have about the treatment or its results. The potential risks and post-treatment advice will also be explained, and a consent form will be signed to ensure you fully understand them. In addition, if it is a new area being treated, a small patch test will be conducted to check for suitability. If your skin type is III+, a topical serum application may be required for four weeks prior to the treatment. Safety and suitability are our highest priorities, and so a full consultation is necessary before any treatment. If you are deemed suitable for the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, a patch test will be carried out, and if successful, the treatment can be administered 48 hours later. However, if you have been taking certain medications, the patch test may be extended to two weeks. Additionally, if you have skin type III+, a topical product may need to be applied for four weeks before the treatment.
