When you visit Dr Sknn for a consultation regarding Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, a thorough medical history will be taken, including a physical examination and photographs. This is to ensure that your safety and eligibility for treatment are the top priority. During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Any post-treatment advice and risks associated with the treatment will also be discussed, and a consent form will be signed to confirm your understanding. If it is a new area being treated, a small patch test will be performed to ensure suitability. For those with a skin type of III+, a topical serum or product may be needed for 4 weeks prior to treatment. Once you are found to be eligible for treatment, a patch test will be performed, and after 48 hours, successful patch tests will allow us to proceed with the treatment. However, note that patch testing may be extended to 2 weeks if certain medications were found during your medical history.
