This same system is employed by the NHS and private hospitals in the UK and, by releasing light in particular wavelength ranges, we are able to target the absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, letting us treat lesions of varying sizes and depths without causing damage to the surrounding skin. Following the treatment, the damaged vessels are taken up by the body and little or no trace of the initial lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL to employ light energy which is then taken in by the Cherry Angioma causing them to heat up to a point where they contract or shut down. In the time that follows, the broken vessels are disposed of by the body, leading to hardly any trace of the original affliction.

During the session there is an opportunity to talk about any fears, expectations, results, or queries one may have. Preceding the treatment is administered, any post-treatment advice and risks related to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) will be outlined and clarified, making sure you are conscious of them and a consent form is filled out.
