At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, an advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) is used to effectively and safely treat Cherry Angioma on skin types I-IV. This same system is used by both NHS and private hospitals in the UK, and by emitting light at certain wavelength ranges, we are able to target the absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, enabling us to treat lesions of different sizes and depths without causing damage to the surrounding skin. After the treatment, the affected vessels are reabsorbed by the body leaving little to no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, utilising IPL, light energy is taken advantage of, which is then soaked up by the Cherry Angioma causing them to heat up to the point of contracting or ceasing. In the following weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally broken down by the body, leaving little to no hint of the initial injury.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical history including a physical examination will be performed including photographs. During the consultation there will be an opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Preceding the treatment any post treatment advice and hazards associated with the treatment are discussed making sure you are fully aware of them and a consent form is signed. Moreover, if it is a new region being treated a small patch test will be performed to make sure it is appropriate for Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
