At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals around the UK, to address Cherry Spots safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in certain wavelength ranges, we can target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, enabling us to treat Cherry Spots of various sizes and depths while causing minimal harm to the surrounding skin. Following treatment, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body, with little or no trace of the initial lesion remaining.

Through the employment of IPL at Dr Sknn, we draw on light energy which is taken in by the Cherry Spots and heated to a point where they contract and/or shut down, sealing them. In the weeks that follow, the damaged vessels are assimilated by the body in a natural way, leaving hardly any sign of the original blemish.
