At Dr Sknn we take advantage of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), regularly employed by the NHS and exclusive hospitals throughout the UK to safely and productively treat Cherry Spots on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in certain wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn, we point to the absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, thus enabling us to treat Cherry Spots of diverse sizes and depths while causing minimal harm to the nearby skin. Upon completion of treatment, the affected vessels are taken up by the body and hardly any trace of the initial lesion is visible.

By utilising IPL at Dr Sknn, light energy is taken up by the Cherry Spots and heated to the point where they spasm and/or collapse, thus sealing shut. In the course of the following weeks, the battered vessels are broken down and eliminated by the body, leaving nothing behind of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, all of our consultations include a physical examination, a medical history and the taking of photos. Additionally, the opportunity to discuss any issues, expectations, results, or questions is provided. Before starting the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, all associated advice and risks are discussed with the patient and a consent form is signed. If the treatment is being carried out on a new area, a skin patch test is conducted first of all.
