At Dr Sknn we employ the Lynton Lumina, an advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also used by the NHS and private hospitals over the UK for securely and effectively treating Cherry Spots on skin types I-IV. By sending out light of a particular wavelength ranges, we can focus on absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin at Dr Sknn, giving us the capability to treat Cherry Spots of varying sizes and depths, with hardly any damage to the adjacent skin. When the treatment has been finished, the impaired vessels are absorbed by the body and little or no sign of the original lesion is seen.

At Dr Sknn, we use IPL, allowing the light energy to be absorbed by the Cherry Spots, which heat them up to a level where they are forced to spasm and shut down. Gradually, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no hint of the initial discolouration.

Before the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment any advice afterwards and risks related to the treatment will be outlined for you to comprehend fully, and a consent form will be signed.
