When you visit Dr Skn for a consultation regarding Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, the medical practitioner will conduct a thorough medical history, physical examination, and take photographs to better understand your concerns, expectations and questions regarding the treatment. At this stage, any potential risks and post-treatment advice will also be discussed, and you will be required to sign a consent form. In cases where a new area is being treated, a small patch test may be required to ensure suitability. Additionally, if your skin type is III or higher, a topical serum may be necessary four weeks prior to the treatment. At Dr Skn, safety and suitability are top priorities, so a full consultation will be carried out before treatment, and a patch test will be conducted to ensure suitability. If the patch test is successful, the treatment can be carried out 48 hours after the test. However, if any medications are found during the medical history, the patch test may be extended to two weeks. If your skin type is III or higher, a topical product may also be required four weeks before the treatment.
