At Dr Sknn, a consultation will be conducted before undergoing Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, which includes a thorough medical history and physical examination, along with taking photographs. During the consultation, patients will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results or questions they may have. The risks associated with the treatment and post-treatment advice will also be discussed to ensure that patients fully understand them, and a consent form will be signed. If the treatment is being done on a new area, a small patch test will be performed to determine suitability. Additionally, if a patient's skin type is III+, a topical serum may need to be applied for 4 weeks prior to the treatment. Safety and eligibility for treatment are of the highest priority at Dr Sknn, so a full consultation and patch test will be performed before any treatment is administered. Following a successful patch test, the treatment can be delivered after 48 hours, unless certain medications were found during the medical history, in which case, the patch testing may be extended to 2 weeks.
