At Dr Sknn the Lynton Lumina is employed, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) also used by the NHS and private hospitals around the UK, for treating Facial Telangiectasia safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By producing light in a certain wavelength range at Dr Sknn we can target absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, which enables us to treat Facial Telangiectasia of various sizes and depths while causing minimal injury to the surrounding skin. Following the treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and very little or no trace of the original lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL to make use of light energy and heat the blood vessels, inducing them to spasm and/or collapse, resulting in a seal. In the coming weeks, the broken vessels are taken up naturally by the body, leading to no indication of the original lesion remaining.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation, a medical chronology including a physical examination will be conducted with photographs taken. During the appointment, you will have the opportunity to bring up any concerns, expectations, results, or queries. Before treatment, any post-treatment advice and hazards associated with the treatment will be discussed to make sure you are fully aware and a consent form is signed. What's more, if it is an area that is new to being treated, a small Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) patch test will be conducted to confirm eligibility.
