At Dr Sknn we deploy the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also utilised by the NHS and private hospitals around the UK, for safely and effectively treating Facial Telangiectasia on all skin types I-IV. We employ light in a precise wavelength range at Dr Sknn to target absorptions peaks of both haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Facial Telangiectasia of different sizes and depths while causing minimal injury to the adjacent skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are taken up by the body and almost no trace of the initial lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, through IPL, we take advantage of luminosity to make use of heat energy, which is taken up by the blood vessels, causing them to spasm and/or shut down, thus forming a block. In the ensuing weeks, the damaged vessels will be absorbed by the body, so that little or no evidence of the original lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation, a medical history including a physical examination will be carried out including photographs. During the appointment, there will be an opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Preceding the treatment any post treatment advice and risks linked to the treatment are discussed ensuring you fully understand them and a consent form is signed.
