By releasing light at a certain wavelength, absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin can be targeted, allowing for the successful treatment of lesions of varying sizes and depths with only minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Upon treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving almost no trace of the original lesion.
