At Dr Sknn we utilise the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) which is approved by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to safely and competently treat Facial Veins on skin types I-IV. This system emits light at a precise wavelength range to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to successfully treat Facial Veins of different sizes and depths with minimal harm to the adjoining skin. Following treatment the vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

Doctor Led Facial Veins - Benefits

By utilising IPL at Dr Sknn, we take advantage of the light energy which is taken in by the blood vessels, heating them until they contract or collapse and sealing them. Over the subsequent weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally processed by the body, with virtually no sign of the original lesion.

Why Choose Dr Sknn for Facial Veins

At Dr Sknn, a medical history, physical examination and photographs will take place at the start of the consultation. This is a chance to go over any issues, expectations, outcomes, or queries that you may have. Before the treatment, all post-treatment advice and any potential risks related to the process are discussed in detail and a consent form is signed. Furthermore, if Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is being used to treat a new area, a patch test will be done to make sure it is suitable.

Common questions

What is doctor-led planning?

It is a consultation-led approach where your goals, medical history, suitability, treatment options, recovery and aftercare are reviewed before a plan is confirmed.

How much is a consultation?

Doctor consultations are free. A £50 reservation fee secures a doctor consultation. Nurse and practitioner consultations are currently free. The booking journey shows whether payment or card protection is required, with the applicable cancellation and rescheduling terms, before you confirm.

Can I book without knowing which treatment I need?

Yes. You can start with a consultation and the team will guide you through suitable options for your skin, face, body or hair goals.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Results vary between individuals. Your clinician will explain realistic expectations, risks, downtime and maintenance before treatment.
