In addition, if it is a new treatment area, a small patch test will be performed to ensure suitability. For patients with skin type III or above, a topical application of serum or product may be necessary for 4 weeks before the treatment. After 48 hours post patch testing, successful candidates can proceed with the treatment, though note that patch testing may be extended to 2 weeks if certain medications were found during the medical history review.
