At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) used by the NHS and private hospitals over the UK to treat Intense Pulsed Light with safety and effectiveness on skin types I-IV. By expelling light at a particular wavelength range, we can target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, which means that we can treat Intense Pulsed Light of various sizes and depths while causing minimal injury to the adjacent skin. When the process is completed, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body and there is no trace of the original lesion.

By deploying IPL at Dr Sknn, light energy is tapped into, with the light being taken in by the capillaries, heating them to a point where they go into cramp and/or break down, and thus sealing them. Over the following days, the impaired vessels are assimilated naturally by the body, leaving little to no trace of the initial blemish.
