At Dr Sknn we use the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) System (IPL) which is also used by the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK to address Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) securely and efficaciously on skin types I-IV. By releasing light in certain wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn, we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to manage Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in different sizes and depths, all the while causing minimal harm to the surrounding skin. After treatment, the impaired vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving little or no indication of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn we make use of IPL to exploit light energy, this light is soaked up by the blood vessels which become so hot that they spasm and/or shrink and shut down. In the following weeks the ruined vessels are taken in by the body so not much evidence of the original injury is left.
