At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, an advanced IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) System (IPL) that is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to safely and effectively treat IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) on skin types I-IV. By transmitting light of distinct wavelengths we are able to aim for absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) of various sizes and depths with little harm to the encompassing skin. After the treatment the damaged vessels are taken in by the body and there is rarely any trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is employed to access light energy, which is taken in by the blood vessels, heating them to the point of spasm and/or collapse, ultimately sealing them. Subsequently, over the following weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally taken up by the body, leaving no evidence of the original lesion.
