At Dr Sknn we use the Lynton Lumina IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) System (IPL), a state-of-the-art technology which is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals in the UK, to treat IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) on skin types I-IV safely and effectively. This system emits light at a particular wavelength range, targeting absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, to enable us to treat IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) of different sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. After treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving no trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL to make use of light energy, which is absorbed by the blood vessels, causing them to heat up to a point where they spasm and/or collapse, thus sealing them. In the following weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally taken in by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history and physical examination, including photographs, will be taken during the consultation. This is a great chance to express any concerns, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Prior to the treatment, all the associated risks and post-treatment instructions are outlined to make sure you have a full understanding of them and sign a consent form.
