At Dr Sknn, a full consultation is undertaken before CO2 Ablative Fractional Laser Treatment to ensure safety and suitability. This will include a review of your medical history and physical examination including photographs, and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions, discuss expectations, outcomes or worries. The potential risks and post-treatment advice will be discussed in detail and a consent form signed to confirm understanding. To assess the area, a patch test may be conducted before treatment, and if skin type is III+, a topical serum may need to be used for four weeks before the treatment. At Dr Sknn, safety and suitability for the procedure are paramount and a full consultation will be conducted to determine eligibility for CO2 Ablative Fractional Laser Treatment. If all is satisfactory after a 48 hour patch test, the treatment can be performed. In some cases however, where certain medications are present, the patch testing period may be extended to two weeks. If skin type is III+, a topical product may be required for four weeks prior to the treatment.
