At Dr Sknn, ahead of a Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, a consultation will be held. This will involve providing a detailed medical history, a physical examination and taking photos. This is the time to ask any queries, share any expectations, or discuss any results. Before the treatment, the post-treatment advice and risks associated with the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment will be fully covered and a consent form must be signed in order to ensure understanding of the process. If this is the first time the area is being treated, a small patch test will be done to assess suitability. If the skin type is III+, a topical serum may need to be used for 4 weeks prior to the treatment to prepare the skin. At Dr Sknn, safety is paramount and a full consultation will take place to make sure the treatment is suitable. If the patch test is successful after 48 hours, the treatment can be administered. If certain medications are identified in the medical history, the patch testing period may be extended to two weeks. For skin type III+ a topical product may need to be applied for 4 weeks before the treatment.
