Before the procedure, the potential risks, post-treatment advice, and the process of the treatment will be explained to you, and a consent form is signed to ensure understanding. If it's the first time a particular area is being treated, a patch test is carried out to determine suitability. Additionally, if the skin type is III+, a topical serum may need to be applied for 4 weeks before the treatment. At Dr Sknn, safety and suitability are of paramount importance, and a full consultation is conducted to guarantee eligibility for the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment. After 48 hours if the patch test is successful, treatment can occur. However, if certain medications are identified in the medical history, the patch test period can be extended to 2 weeks. For skin type III+, a topical product may be needed to be applied for 4 weeks prior to the treatment.
