When you visit Dr Sknn for a Fractional CO2 Laser consultation, you will undergo a thorough medical history and physical examination, including photographs, to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you. You will also have the opportunity to discuss any concerns, expectations, results or questions you may have, and the risks associated with the treatment will be explained to you in detail. Before the treatment, a consent form will be signed and any post-treatment advice will be given. If it is your first time having the treatment in a new area, a small patch test will be performed to ensure that it is suitable for you. In some cases, a topical application of serum may be needed for four weeks prior to treatment if you have skin type III+. At Dr Sknn, safety and eligibility are the highest priority, so a full consultation and patch test will be performed before the treatment. Following a successful patch test, the treatment can be delivered after 48 hours. However, if you have certain medications in your medical history, the patch testing may be extended to two weeks. If you have skin type III+, a topical application of product may be needed for four weeks prior to treatment.
