Through emitting light at specific wavelength ranges, the peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin can be targeted, allowing us to treat Thread Vein at different sizes and depths while exerting minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Following the treatment, the impaired vessels are taken in by the body, leaving very little trace of the original lesion.

By using IPL at Dr Sknn, light energy is produced, which is taken up by the blood vessels, causing them to heat up to a point where they contract and/or rupture, eventually resulting in sealing. In the following weeks, the impaired vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving little or no indication of the original mark.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical history and physical examination including photographs will be carried out. This gives you the chance to state any apprehensions, expectations, results or questions you may have. Before receiving any Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, post treatment advice and any connected hazards will be explained making sure you fully grasp them before a consent form is signed.
