At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina is our tool of choice - a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) that is used by both NHS and private hospitals across the UK. This system allows us to apply it to skin types I-IV to safely and effectively treat Neck Redness. Via releasing light in precise wavelength ranges, we can target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, enabling us to treat lesions at different sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Following the procedure, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body, leaving little or no sign of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we utilise IPL to utilise light energy, which is then absorbed into the Neck Redness, heating them to a point of contraction and/or disintegration, thus forming a seal. In the following weeks, the damaged vessels are naturally taken in by the body, leaving barely any trace of the original scar.

At Dr Sknn during the consultation a medical history and physical examination will be done with the taking of photographs. This is the time when there will be an opportunity to discuss any worries, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Prior to the treatment, post-treatment advice and any hazards associated with the treatment are discussed to make sure you are aware of them and a consent form is signed. Furthermore, if it is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) process, a patch test will be done on any new areas to be treated to ascertain suitability.
