At Dr Sknn, we deploy the Lynton Lumina - a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) that is used by NHS and private hospitals across the UK. This system can be used to treat Neck Redness on skin types I-IV safely and effectively, by emitting light in specific wavelength ranges that are able to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. This allows us to treat lesions of varying sizes and depths without causing too much harm to the surrounding skin. After the procedure, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body, meaning that little or no trace of the initial lesion will remain.

At Dr Sknn, we employ IPL to make use of light energy, which is then taken in by Neck Redness, heating them up to a level where they spasm and/or break down and seal. In the succeeding weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally absorbed by the body, leaving behind very little or no evidence of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history and physical examination will be conducted during the appointment which will include photographs taken. During this session there will be an opportunity to discuss any worries, expectations, outcomes, or questions you may have. Prior to the treatment, post-treatment instructions and the possible risks of the treatment will be discussed to make sure you are fully aware of them and a consent form will be signed. Moreover, when it is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, a patch test will be done on any new areas to be treated to ascertain suitability.
