At Dr Sknn we have the Lynton Lumina, a top-of-the-range Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL). This is the same technology used by NHS and private hospitals in the UK to treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV safely and efficiently. The light emitted at Dr Sknn is at a unique wavelength range that targets haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin absorption peaks. This method enables us to treat Poikiloderma of all sizes and depths with minimal skin damage. The body absorbs the damaged vessels so the initial lesion is barely visible afterwards.

By exploiting IPL at Dr Sknn, we employ light energy that is taken in by the Poikiloderma. Upon heating to a certain point, the vessels contract and/or close up, forming a seal. Subsequently, the damaged vessels are normally taken in by the body over the coming weeks, leaving only a little or no hint of the first wound.

At Dr Sknn, the consultation will include a medical history, physical examination and photographs. During this time, you will be able to discuss any concerns, expectations, results or questions about Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
