At Dr Sknn we take advantage of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) which is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK, to treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV in a secure and effective manner. This system emits light in a specific wavelength range, thereby enabling us to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to address lesions of different sizes and depths with minimal harm to the surrounding skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are naturally assimilated by the body, leaving no signs of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL in order to use the energy of light. This light is absorbed by the Poikiloderma, heating them to a point that causes them to spasm and close, forming a seal. In the following weeks, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body, meaning there is little indication of the lesion before.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history and physical examination, with photographs, will be performed during the consultation. This is the time when any apprehensions, expectations, results, or queries you may have can be discussed.
