The light emitted at Dr Sknn is of specific wavelength ranges that target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. This makes it possible to address Poikiloderma of all sizes and depths while causing minimal harm to the surrounding skin. After treatment the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and the initial lesion is nearly unnoticeable.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is implemented to employ light energy, which is taken up by the Poikiloderma, heating them to a point where they contract spasmodically or collapse, thereby sealing. Over the following weeks, the damaged Poikiloderma are absorbed by the body organically, leaving little to no evidence of the original lesion.
