At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a top-of-the-line Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL). This system is used by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK to treat Poikiloderma on skin types I-IV in a safe and successful manner. By emitting light in certain wavelength ranges, the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin can be targeted, permitting us to treat Poikiloderma of different sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the encompassing skin. Following the treatment, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body, leaving little or no trace of the initial lesion.

By using IPL, Dr Sknn implements light energy which is absorbed by the Poikiloderma, heating them to a point where they contract or collapse, thus sealing them. Over the following days, the broken vessels are absorbed back into the body naturally, leaving little or no indication of the original lesion.
