At Dr Sknn we deploy the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Poikiloderma effectively and safely on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in designated wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Poikiloderma of various sizes and at various depths while causing restricted damage to the neighbouring skin. After the procedure the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and there is very little to no trace of the initial lesion.

By utilising IPL at Dr Sknn, we are leveraging light energy that is then absorbed by the Poikiloderma. Upon heating up to a certain point, the vessels contract and/or shut down, creating a seal. Over the upcoming weeks, the damaged vessels are naturally consumed by the body so there is hardly any trace of the initial blemish.

At Dr Sknn, your consultation will include a medical history and physical examination, with photographs taken.
