This system works by emitting light with certain wavelength ranges, targeting absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, so that we can treat lesions of different sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. After treatment, the affected vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is deployed to take advantage of light energy, which is then taken in by the Port Wine Stain and heated to a point where they shrink and/or shut down. During the following weeks, the damaged vessels are naturally absorbed by the body, leaving scarcely any indication of the original lesion.
