Through releasing light at specific wavelength ranges, we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, thus being able to treat Port Wine Stain of dissimilar sizes and depths while causing minimum damage to the adjacent skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body, leaving barely any trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is used to take advantage of light energy, the illumination is then taken up by the blood vessel which is warmed to a point where it contracts and/or breaks down and seals. In the following weeks, the damaged vessels are naturally broken down by the body leaving only a small indication of the original lesion.
