By emitting light in a specific wavelength range, we are able to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxyhaemoglobin, which allows us to treat Port Wine Stain across different sizes and depths, causing negligible damage to the surrounding skin. After treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving little to no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, with IPL, we exploit light energy, the light is soaked up by the Port Wine Stain which heat them to a degree where they go into convulsion and/or collapse, thus sealing them. Over the upcoming weeks, the harmed vessels are taken in organically by the body so little or no sign of the primary lesion is left.
