At Dr Sknn we employ the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) used by the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK to safely and effectively treat Port Wine Stain on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in particular wavelength ranges, we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin in order to treat Port Wine Stain of different sizes and depths, causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. Following treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving behind hardly any trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we make use of IPL to bring light energy into play, which is taken up by the Port Wine Stain and causes them to heat to such an extent that they contract and/or collapse, thereby getting sealed. In the weeks that follow, the broken vessels are taken up by the body naturally, creating little or no hint of the original lesion.
