Emitting light in a particular wavelength range, we can target the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. This makes it possible for us to treat Port Wine Stain of different sizes and depths with minimal damage to the surrounding skin. After treatment, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body and there is hardly any trace of the original lesion left behind.

At Dr Sknn, we make use of IPL to activate light energy, this is absorbed by the Port Wine Stain, raising the temperature so they spasm and/or shut down, becoming sealed. Over the course of the following weeks, the impaired vessels will be absorbed by the body, leaving hardly any trace of the initial lesion.
