Portwine Stain Augmentation

At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a high-tech Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL). This state-of-the-art technology is employed by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK to securely and successfully treat Portwine Stain on skin types I-IV. By releasing light in certain wavelength ranges, we are able to target the absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat various sizes and depths of Portwine Stain while causing as little damage as possible to the neighbouring skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body, leaving no trace of the original lesion.

The light is taken in by the Portwine Stain, which then heat to the point of becoming constricted and/or collapsing, thus sealing them up.
