At Dr Sknn we make the most of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) used by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Red Chest safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By projecting light at a particular wavelength range we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Red Chest at different sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the nearby skin. Upon completion of the treatment the damaged vessels are taken in by the body, leaving little or no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of IPL to employ light energy, the beam being absorbed by the veins which become heated to the extent that they spasm and/or break down, and shut. In the weeks ahead, the damaged vessels are naturally absorbed by the body, leaving virtually no evidence of the original blemish.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history and physical examination with photographs is taken as part of the consultation. This is the time to express any concerns, expectations, results, or queries you may have. Before the treatment, any post treatment advice and potential risks of IPL will be discussed to guarantee that you are aware of the implications, and that a consent form is signed. In the case of a new area being treated, a patch test with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) will be carried out to determine suitability.
