Here at Dr Sknn, we take advantage of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Rosacea Acne System (IPL) that is also utilised by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Rosacea Acne in a safe and effective manner on skin types I-IV. Through the emission of light in specific wavelength ranges, we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Rosacea Acne at different sizes and depths whilst causing minimal harm to the nearby skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving behind little or no evidence of the lesion.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is used to harness light energy, which is taken in by the blood vessels and heats them to a level that causes contraction and/or collapse, forming a seal. Over the following weeks, the damaged vessels are taken up naturally by the body, thus no indication of the initial blemish is visible.

At Dr Sknn, during the appointment a medical record including a physical assessment will be performed with pictures taken. During the meeting, there will be an opportunity to discuss any anxieties, objectives, effects, or questions you may have. Prior to the treatment any post treatment instructions and possible risks associated with the treatment are reviewed so that you fully understand them and a consent form is signed. Furthermore, if it is a new area being treated a small Rosacea Acne (IPL) trial will be done to check it is suitable.
