If the area is being treated for the first time, a small patch test will be conducted to determine suitability. In the instance of skin type III+, a topical serum may need to be applied for four weeks prior to treatment to prepare the skin. At Dr Sknn, safety and suitability for treatment are of utmost importance and a complete consultation will be conducted to assess your eligibility. Following a successful patch test after 48 hours, the treatment can be administered. However, depending on medications present in your medical history, the patch testing period could be extended up to two weeks. If your skin type is III+, a topical product might have to be used for four weeks before the treatment.
