At Dr Sknn, prior to Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, a consultation will be held which will include a full medical record and physical examination, with photographs. At this consultation, it will give you the opportunity to talk about any queries, expectations, results and worries that you may have. Before the treatment, the possible risks and post-treatment advice about the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment will be discussed in detail and a consent form will be signed to make sure you fully understand the process. If the area is being treated for the first time, a small patch test will be carried out to see if it is suitable. Moreover, if your skin type is classed as III+, a topical serum may need to be used for four weeks before the procedure to prepare the skin. At Dr Sknn, safety is of the utmost importance, and a full consultation will be conducted to establish if you are suitable for the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment. Following a positive patch test after 48 hours, the treatment can then be given. However, if certain medications are present in your medical record, the patch testing period may be extended up to two weeks. If your skin type is III+, a topical product may need to be employed for four weeks prior to the treatment.
