At Dr Sknn we utilise the Lynton Lumina, an advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) which is employed by both the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK, to securely and effectively address Spider Naevi on skin types I-IV. By emitting light within particular wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn we concentrate on absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin which allows us to treat Spider Naevi of various sizes and depths, whilst causing minimal harm to the nearby skin. Upon treatment, the affected vessels are engulfed by the body and little or no sign of the original lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, we utilise IPL to make use of light energy. This light is absorbed by the Spider Naevi, heating them to a point where they contract or collapse, thus sealing them off. In the forthcoming weeks, these damaged vessels are then naturally taken in by the body, leaving scarcely any hint of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical record including a physical examination will be undertaken including photographs. During the consultation there will be the opportunity to discuss any worries, expectations, results, or queries you may have. Earlier to the treatment any post treatment advice and hazards associated with the process are addressed making sure you understand them fully, and a consent form is signed.
