At Dr Sknn, we utilise the Lynton Lumina, a sophisticated Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) which is also deployed by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Spider Naevi safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By producing light in specific wavelength ranges, we aim for the absorption peaks of both haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. This allows us to treat Spider Naevi of various sizes and depths while causing minimum damage to the surrounding skin. Following treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and little or no trace of the initial lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is utilised to take advantage of light energy. The light is absorbed by the Spider Naevi, heating them until they experience contraction and/or spasm, leading to closure. Over the coming weeks, the damaged vessels will be naturally reabsorbed by the body, with very little trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, during the conference a medical history will be inspected, incorporating a physical examination and photographs. There is a chance to discuss any worries, ambitions, outcomes or questions you may have. Before any treatment, any post-treatment guidance and potential risks linked to the treatment are gone over to make sure that you understand them, and a permission form is signed. Plus, if it is a new area being treated, a miniature patch test will be performed to ensure suitability with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
