At Dr Sknn, we employ the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also used by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Spider Naevi safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in a precise wavelength ranges, we target the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin. This permits us to treat Spider Naevi of different sizes and depths at the same time, while causing minimal damage to the adjacent skin. After treatment, the affected vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn we make use of IPL, which involves the use of light energy. This light is consumed by the Spider Naevi, heating them to a point where they go into spasm and/or collapse, causing closure. In the weeks that follow, the affected vessels will be naturally reabsorbed by the body, leaving almost no evidence of the initial problem.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical history as well as a physical examination, with photographs being taken, will be carried out. During the session, you will be given a chance to bring up any worries, expectations, results, or queries you might have. Before the treatment, any post-treatment instructions and risks attached to the treatment will be gone through with you to make sure you grasp them fully and an agreement will be signed.
